With an impressive R-value of 32, Master-Bilt panels meet or exceed federal energy standards, helping operators minimize energy costs while maintaining strict temperature control.

Standard wall and ceiling panels are four inches thick and finished in acrylic-coated galvanized steel for long-lasting corrosion resistance. Our standard floors are constructed of heavy-duty aluminum and support up to 800 pounds per square foot (evenly distributed), making them ideal for high-volume storage.

Master-Bilt walk-ins are available in a wide range of standard and custom sizes to fit your operation’s specific requirements—whether you need a compact cooler for a back-of-house application or a large-capacity outdoor freezer.

A few sizing tips to consider:

• Plan for growth: One cubic foot generally holds around 28 lbs. of product—always factor in room for future expansion.
• Outdoor installations: These require added features like a vinyl membrane roof, rain hoods, and low ambient refrigeration kits for colder climates.
• Optimize interior layout: Shelving kits and well-planned aisle spacing (40″ recommended for carts) maximize usable space.

Refrigeration matters: Ensure adequate clearance for airflow and servicing—top-mounted systems need 24″ of headroom; remote systems require at least 2″ between the unit and the ceiling.

We recommend the following temperature settings:

• Coolers: 35°F
• Freezers: -10°F

These settings align with federal food safety guidelines, ensuring your perishable goods are kept safely below 40°F to prevent bacterial growth and spoilage.
