Split-Pak™ Legacy Remote Systems with R-449A

HIGH QUALITY COMPONENTS FOR LEGACY REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS

NOTE: This page is provided for our customers with legacy systems containing R-449A refrigerant. For information on next-gen Split-Pak A2L systems with R-454A and R-454C refrigerant, please visit our updated webpage.

Master-Bilt’s Split-Pak™ split refrigeration units for walk-ins feature a condensing unit paired with a matching evaporator coil. With split, or remote, refrigeration systems, the condensing unit is installed away from the walk-in cooler or freezer—typically outside the building or on the roof—while the evaporator coil is located inside the walk-in.

Split-Pak models should be used when:

  • Larger capacity systems are needed
  • Height above the walk-in is restricted
  • It’s important to move heat outside and reduce the load on the HVAC system
  • Lower noise levels are desired inside the conditioned space
  • Unchilled product needs to be rapidly brought down to the proper storage temperature
  • Frequent walk-in door openings are expected
